‘The Doon’ is an exclusive 18 acre resort set in the middle of the Victorian High Country with stunning views of Lake Eildon. Access is via a private gated road and It boasts its own dedicated lake access. With room for large groups to holiday together, It is the perfect getaway for family reunions, girls & boys weekends or anyone wanting to soak up the relaxing country vibe.

The house comfortably sleeps 25 and the bungalow, which can be hired additionally, can sleep a further 7. It is located right on the waters edge and is only a 7 minute drive from the Bonnie Doon Pub, Town Centre, and of course the famous bridge.

Mansfield, a vibrant town at the foothills of the Victorian Alps is just a 20 minute drive away. It is filled with country charm, boutique shops, pubs, beauty retreats, cafes, sports & leisure shops, a brewery and two supermarkets. It also boasts a golf course, a cinema and even a zoo. 

There are nearby wineries such as the Delatite and Barwite vineyards making it a perfect location for every season and any occasion.

WINTER: 
For the snow enthusiasts it is only 1 hour to the village at Mt Buller.  You can be up for first lifts and back home for dinner after last lifts.  We have two slow cookers, a large BBQ, a spit and everything you need to cook for large groups, or you can simply just pick something up for dinner on your way through Mansfield. If the weather isn’t great on the mountain you can stay put & enjoy all the other activities the property has to offer.

We have a 7 x 3.5 Pool table, a table tennis table, lawn bowls, a huge fire pit, a competition grade in-ground trampoline, plenty of space for motor bike riding, great access to nearby 4 wheel driving tracks  including the famous “Craig’s Hut”, scenic walks, bike rides, or you can stay indoors with the cozy wood heater, free NBN wifi, Smart TV‘s, darts, cards, board games and much more.

SUMMER:
If you are a boating/ fishing/water sports enthusiast you will love having your very own private lake access directly at the front of the property.  You can set up on the foreshore and never have to leave with the house right behind you.  There are plenty of cool places to visit via boat including the majestic Eildon Weir and countless arms of the lake to be explored. You can also enjoy the unique experience of mooring your boat and dining in at the Aqua Bar or Cafe 501. 

Sunsets are simply amazing. ‘The Doon’ boasts a large deck complete with fairy lights, which easily accommodates 30 people to enjoy a truly magnificent dining experience. There is a projector and screen set up and ready to go for movie nights on the deck (BYO laptop) and a large speaker with Bluetooth to enjoy your own tunes.

We have our own private resort style swimming pool and a full-size Tennis Court in front of the fire pit. The front paddock next to the Tennis Court is huge and is a great place for kids to ride their motorbikes. The surrounding areas are great for walks and bike rides (there is a bike track from Bonnie Doon to Mansfield), and there is plenty of wildlife to enjoy.

And when you need a break from the heat, each room has its own split system AC to stay cool.

There truly is something for everyone. 

No need to book a dog kennel - well behaved dogs are more than welcome.  The property is not fenced but we do have a dog pen that can easily be erected on the deck & the tennis court or pool area are also contained. There is so much area to roam with your dogs - they will love it as much as you! (We just ask that any evidence please be removed😉🙏🏻)

There are doonas & pillows on all beds.  We also supply tea towels, bathmats & hand towels.

The property runs solely on rainwater tanks, so we do ask that you be mindful of water usage.

We have an Aldi Coffee Machine so if you love your coffee, please bring your pods with you as the nearest Aldi is in Benalla. 

We have a great relationship with our neighbours with whom we share our private road and we’d like to keep it that way!  Our neighbours will call us if they believe guests behaviour is impacting them or is damaging to our property. One particularly important request from our neighbours is that all guests maintain the 20km speed limit (particularly in the Summer months) to minimise the dust from our unsealed road.
